I've finally gotten around to submitting something totally new. My latest photo, Portrait: Megan was taken Wednesday during school. I was so excited to get started on my portraiture assignment that I quickly wrote down my porposal and headed outside. Even if it had started to rain on us, I was confident and eager to get the perfect shot, and I think we succeeded. Unlike Megan, I didn't get the perfect shot the first time.

Lately Megan and I have been a bit worried about submitting work in class. Mostly I am nervous because the last assignment (tabloid photography) was a disaster. I wrote out my proposal and my teacher accepted it, but then decided to have a problem with it after I had developed my film. My theme was a drug bust, and I can assure you that Megan was not doing any drugs while we were shooting. Yes we had the proper tools needed to actually do the drugs (you can buy the bowl for tabacco usage, not just marijuana). Megan and I do not drugs, but apparently my teacher didn't believe us. She pretty much accused us of actually doing drugs and then proceeded to say "How do I know there is no residue of marijuana in there?". There wasn't, we both knew that, yet she still nailed us. Megan got very mad, but I tried to understand the teacher's perspective. Even today she had to bring it up to make me mad yet again. Once I get the photo back (I couldn't display it for obvious reasons), I may scan it and submit it here just for kicks.

I have my final Photo I assignment due January 7th, so I should have some test shots up eventually. I'll be working with Megan yet again. I should also have her photos (I keep all our work in my folders, plus I'm always her model), so I'll scan those (with permission) and submit them so you can see her work as well. I don't understand why she doesn't just get a dA to save me the trouble. >.> Her idea seems pretty good. Mine is more on the demented side and includes dramatic lighting. I have no boundaries, obviously, thereofore I don't care if my teacher has a problem with this assignment. I'm more into shocking people than taking pretty pictures.

New work should be up, as well as random photos. My teacher says art isn't random, therefore any random art cannot be turned in during class. I'll just submit it here where there are people who actually understand the concept of art.
